Your Inner Compass
What is it asking you to do
We each have an inner compass That teaches us where to go Who to dine with And who to avoid It’s when this inner compass is ignored Or partially acknowledged When things go horribly wrong for us Of course it will, won’t it? So, when our inner compass guides us We listen and obey Follow suit Then life will be keeping wonderful Like a garden of roses It might be full of thorns But who is looking at them Or even thinking of them When roses are gently dancing in the wind Asking for appreciation Awaiting us to come pick one And that’s when it will hurt It will prick to be precise With its thorn if we are not careful As long as we keep busy Watching its beauty From afar off The rose will not do anything to us It will only seem to be inviting us To come get one for ourselves But when we decide to move closer And try to pick one for ourselves The thorns will come first Into contact To prick us without warning Why is that ? Inner compass It would have told us to be gentle Admire the rose from afar That’s enough Don’t get closer and hurt yourself But we didn’t pay so much attention On a Friday night When the whole world was celebrating Halloween As long as inner compass guides us And it will keep doing that But if we ignore even one of its guidance Then its voice will become duller and duller Until we can’t hear it anymore It gets drowned with the rest of our sounds In the neighborhood So let’s give the inner compass a break And let’s listen to him or her Once and for all So that we don’t have to keep guessing How life will turn out As long as we allow our inner compass That just showed up on our radar And start listening to it For example, it tells me to sit up and wrote When I listen and obey Words flow out of me Onto my phone Or whatever I write on If I instead don’t sit up Words struggle to flow out They want to go back to sleep also And sometimes they let me sleep some Before nudging me gently back up again Like this one did What is your inner compass asking you Is it asking you to look somewhere To listen to something Or block your eyes From watching it Or your thoughts from thinking it Are you listening to it? Your inner compass is your friend Philosopher and guide Treat it well And it will take you places Think about this Peace ✌🏽

Shalini’s Your Inner Compass feels like a quiet conversation with a wise friend who sees you clearly. Her words don’t preach they gently nudge, reminding us that our intuition isn’t some mystical force, but a deeply personal guide that’s always been there, waiting to be heard. The rose metaphor is tender and true: beauty often comes with risk, and rushing toward it without care can hurt. But Shalini doesn’t shame us for getting pricked she simply invites us to listen more closely next time. Her writing is soft, soulful, and full of grace. It’s not just a poem it’s a moment of stillness, asking us to trust ourselves again.
Nice Shalini!
