Touch: It Can Fill the Void Within Us
Have You Been Touched Today?
Just like we are all built up to eat and drink, clothe and shelter, we are also built up with internal devices to fill up our senses, to touch and feel and breathe and love somebody and be loved in return.
Every sense we have inherited needs to be encouraged and entertained as well. If we keep living in darkness, our eye sight will become handicapped. Exposure to bright light will then make us run to avoid it.
Just like that all our senses need its presence understood and its hunger fulfilled. And that includes touch. The sense of pleasure needs to be activated from time to time as well. Otherwise, it’s going to make us allergic to it as well.
But more than most of them, we are all born with an inherent need to connect. That’s what makes us living, that’s what makes us human. Every child needs to be touching his mom and dad periodically to feel safe and secure. Words are not enough.
Every boy also needs friends to play rough with him and that is a different form of touch but it is also touch. Every girl automatically hugs and puts a hand over the shoulder of her best friends. Touch.
Every man and woman need somebody in their life to honor and respect their needs to touch and be touched in return.
The skin is the largest organ for a reason. We need so much touch somewhere within its camp ground. Touch is important for all. Touch is necessary for all. Touch is enough to fill the void that we feel often. Because touch conveys that we are important. We are needed. We are desired. We are safe and we are protected. Touch. It’s important.
Have you been touched today?
Think about this!
Cheers!
