The Recollection
Where Do You Belong Now?
She quietly recalls All the ones that are her own Not that anybody is not hers But she calls only those That have been moved That have been awakened Or have lived other lives But now they know the truth Of their existence She quietly in the night Goes about reclaiming them One by one by one Like a scavenger The machine that comes at night To clean up our roads It doesn’t make any noise You’d never know it existed Until you saw one of them With your own two eyes How it comes by in the unearthly hours And quietly but surely Cleans up everything Small and big Just picks them up And leaves the road Fresh and ever ready To be littered upon again Next morn! Have you been reclaimed? Where lies your identity Where lies your ingenuity Where lies your loyalty To whom do you belong now? Your religion? Your culture? Your heritage? Tradition? Or the earth? Where lies your allegiance? Think about this! Peace ✌🏽
