The Pull

Everybody needs the pull

Why does the earth go around the sun?
Because the sun’s gravity is pulling
Same for all the planets 
The sun is pulling them on 

But if they stop moving 
They will be drawn 
And when they are pulled on
They won’t be anymore planets 
going around the sun 

Only the act of going 
round and round the sun
Keeps the earth from consumption 
Don’t ask me how that happens 
I am not a physics person 

But what I do know is this one 
If the earth were too far away, then
The gravity of the sun cannot pull it in
And if it were closer, then again
It would be done 

The earth and the planets then
Are in just the right position 
To avoid getting eaten 
By the big giant red hot sun 

In other words 
They are positioned just right 
Neither too close
Not too far
Just right so that 
They can go round and round 
Without being sucked in 

In our lives also 
When we give ourselves away
To any person
In the name of love 
Or marriage 
Too often than not
Our lives are getting eaten 
Consumed 
Taken 
And not given importance 

Only as long as the pull remains
Only as long there is reason to pull
The sun keeps pulling on 
trying to bring us closer in 

Once there is no reason 
For the pull to happen 
It gets easy to be taken 
For granted and then 
There is no reason 
For passion
To work its magic on
The person 

The pull has to remain
If you want to hold the tension 
in each and every season!
