The Husbandly Mind
That only tends to its heart like a good husband does to his wife all the time
When you are lacking something The mind keeps looking For ways and means To satisfy it In this way The mind becomes match maker Matching all that we are missing And finding ways and means To satisfy that need within us But the mind doesn’t stop there It goes one step further It pulls down the menu guide And checks for every feeling That the heart feels Whenever the match making happens If the heart feels right Then the mind makes the match But until the heart looks happy The mind is not satisfied either The mind doesn’t tell the heart This is your lot You’ve got to life with this lot only Learn to adjust Learn to live with what you have with you Joyfully Oh no! The mind never does that The mind only keeps comparing Diligently To check if the heart feels happy For every match it makes And only once the match is made The mind stops its matchmaking process Sometimes it takes years For the heart to feel happy in this way The mind remains patient with it It only keeps asking the heart Is it this one? Yes? No? Ok! Then let’s discard them And starts from the beginning Once more All over again Sometimes even after the heart feels happy The mind doesn’t fully stop It just pauses Takes a brief coffee break And then waits patiently for the heart To give it the green signal again And once it does get the green signal From the heart The mind restarts its matchmaking process All over once again What a lovely duo We have been bestowed The mind is so patient And loving to the heart No ego No nonsense It understands it’s job And takes it to completion Every single time Doesn’t get tired Doesn’t complain Just diligently Keeps searching And keeps comparing To see if the heart is happy again What a blessing we have in the mind Thank you husbandly mind!
