Temptation
Why is man always tempted
Temptation There’s a temptation in the air It’s called looking Stolen glances In this day and age It’s so easy To steal a glance at somebody You want to see There’s temptation everywhere In buses in cars in trains in flights At work At home around the neighborhood When the mind remembers It wants to steal a look Why is that? Isn’t what we have enough for us That we have to go outside and look next Isn’t what we have at home not good? Why go around looking stealing touching what’s not yours? The sky is ours It’s endless Limitless The inner mental space is also ours In vast also Unchartered The land and sea and ocean Everywhere you go Everywhere you turn There’s beautiful birds in the air They sit on roofs In a straight line Or two or three rows Causing a symphony There’s fishes that keeping jumping out of water pop and there she goes There’s egrets herons even killdeers Making noises but being beautiful just the same You only have to look Even the clouds make waves Brushstrokes everywhere There’s seasons Like spring summer fall and winter That are rich in their own color And yet what is man That he must look Only for yet another Of himself That is not at home But out of reach Oh! Is it because stolen mangoes are the most delicious ? There’s always the temptation To look To glance To make a hook And then throw it out To see if any fishes will take it The bait in it What poverty must cause him to do this Poor man he’s always tempted Peace ✌🏽
