Sunshine Blogger Awards
Here we go again, this time with a different set of Q&A's by Aster Solenne. Thank you, Aster. I loved answering these.
Dear Aster solenne,
Thank you for bestowing upon me the honor of a Sunshine Blogger Award. I am humbled once again. I loved your questions that made me think and enjoyed answering them. Your curiosity is contagious and made me feel like a little girl once again. So, thank you for that.
Here are my answers to all your questions:
1. You asked me if I would rather be a dog or a ghost, I thought about it, I've been a dog my whole life, now I wanted to switch roles and wouldn't being a ghost be exciting, especially when you can haunt somebody for the rest of their lives? 😎 What do you think? I am actually in the process, and I am enjoying it. Hehe!
2. If I had any superpower, that was completely useless, I would fly across the sky like wonder woman, not for showing off or rescuing the world with it, but just for feeling the power, the wind and the thrill of doing it. I see birds fly in the sky all the time, I have dreamt at least a couple times as if I took a leap and flew 10 yards before I got back down again. Feel fully certain I can and will someday. If birds can fly, surely man can too without needing expensive equipment.
3. If I could only communicate using emoji for a day, let's see, it would be like this:
🌙🚶🏼♀️➡️🫶🏼👨🏾🦳👵👬🏾🥰🏝️
My favorite memory is when I walked between my parents wearing a beautiful kaftan dress that my dad bought from Singapore holding both their hands and going for a walk into the night when I was about 5.
4. If my pet could talk: I only had a goldfish for pet and when I took him to the pet shop to give him away before I moved, he was so upset and angry with me for taking him out of the only tank he'd ever known and taking him in a bag in a car away from home. He was going all over the bag of water so swiftly and I could feel his temper outside as I was driving. It was only a 10 min drive, but the poor thing must have felt so abandoned. I wonder if he's still alive. He lived with us for 5 years. He must have yelled at me with the worst kind of bad words!
5. One small ordinary thing that never fails to make me happy, is the looking at the sleeping face of my daughter. I am filled with gratitude for the gift of her presence in my life every day.
6. I would go back all the way into my past when I made one wrong decision that unraveled my life and lead me to where I am today. I would go back and remove myself from the spot I put myself in and see what happens just to see where it leads and how it unfolds from there. I am always curious. Perhaps in my next life, I’ll get to do that. Hehe! 😜
7. A lesson that I've learned the hard way is also the same thing, my life story, because even though I made some wrong choices and had to experience a shitload of garbage due to that, it has also given me very valuable lessons and made me who I am today. And I am very grateful for every one of them.
8. There's a book that I read that reflected my thought process about life in general and I very much loved it. It's called 'How will you measure your life' by Clay Christensen. If anybody asks me to recommend a book to them, this one will be the first one on my list.
9. If my life had a theme song now, it is 'Heal the World' by Michael Jackson. I was in high school when I came across Michael Jackson and this song had a profound impact on me. I was recently reminded of this song, and I now believe that it had more than its initial impact then. It has shaped the way how I see the world and live my life.
10. The soap I used in my childhood, it’s called Hamam, every time I smell it, it takes me back home once more.
11. The person I fell in love with got me started writing poems. Until then I didn't know words could flow out of me freely so ordinarily. I was introduced to writing poetry in my high school and tried my hand at one or two at that time, even wrote a poem when my dad passed away as an eulogy, but never knew I was going to write poems every day. I still don't write like other poets do, metaphorically, but every time I am inspired, words just flow out of me as if somebody in the background is dictating to me and I am taking notes. They just pour out of me endlessly until all my emotions are given room to breathe and at the end of it, there's always a poem filled with many stanzas. It has become such a habit that nowadays, even thoughts flow out of me in the form of poetry, I've noticed it many a time, thinking in the form of poetry.
I enjoyed this Q&A so much. You are one creative interviewer. You should start a podcast. I will join if you do. Enjoyed the thought process. Thank you Aster. I've already nominated 11 authors in a different Sunshine blog award post. So, I'll pass on that. This was only to honor you. If you would answer these yourself, that would be fabulous to read also.
Here are your questions back to you:
1.Would you rather be a dog or a ghost, and why?

5. What’s one small, ordinary thing that never fails to make you happy?
6. If you could spend a day in any time period— past or future — where would you go, and what would you do?
