I was driving to my daughter’s school When I saw a sign on the street That said Road Humps I wondered what was that Turns out they are just raised portions of the road Meant to direct traffic To flow slowly so as to avoid damage and destruction It reminded me of the humps we face in life That are meant to slow us down From time to time To avoid damage and destruction A loose word here A strong word there A need to break out of a mold Expected from social norms A need to get out of the crowd A need to slow down Before its time to pick up speed again Road Humps happen in life to every one When you encounter the next road hump Be it in life or just the road Slow down, pay attention It’s here for a reason To avoid damage and destruction It’s here to slow you down So you can gather strength Before you can pick up speed again Road humps are necessary evil Road humps save lives Road humps are here to stay So learn to live with them while you enjoy the ride!
