Relationship can be complicated One person’s weakness can be exploited One person’s love can be taken advantage of And shown the door when the convenience is gone Relationships can be fraudulent One person keeps on giving The other keeps on taking Dishonesty rampant Why do that? Relationships can be a headache Especially when you have to keep helicoptering Day in and day out with no end in sight Relationships can be fun You can keep on talking When you have something in common You can love, hug and be there for another Relationships can be intimidating When one person keeps on abusing The other has to keep walking on eggshells Not knowing when one will crack open And cause more pain and harm and for how long Relationships can be messy What felt like friendship Can quickly turn to something else And you’re left pondering Where did this take this turn And what do I do now How do I end it without causing heartbreak because this ain’t sustainable And this ain’t going nowhere Relationships can be freeing Especially when you’d been blocked off Your views obstructed Imprisonment held way too long Relationships can be heartbreaking When one person wants to keep going And the other person feels strangled And wants to call it quits Relationships are all made in heaven They are all God given If you look at them from that standpoint Relationships can be beautiful Even when they are complicated Messy Headache inducing Fraudulent Intimidating And heartbreaking Seen from that vantage point Relationships can be interesting Can be observation Can be a classroom And the relative can be the hard task master with a rod But it can be a good lesson Something worth learning Something that was here for you To move ahead in your life That can take you places you’ve never dreamed of going What kind of relationships Do you carry that are bent on troubling you ?
