Pain: How to Resolve It
How to Process Pain Safely

First of all, in order to process pain safely, you need time and space.
I am not talking about physical pain here. I am talking about the emotional pain that happens to you, for example, when a loved one abandons you. Or you leave them for some reason but are finding it hard to process it.
Pain is like grief. It comes and goes. You never know when it can come and hit you like a shard of glass!
But when pain happens, for example, when you miss the person who is the cause for the pain, it will be very hard to do anything else with full concentration until the pain is fully gone.
But just like other emotions, pain cannot process itself. It cannot go away until you take steps to resolve it.
Pain is like a little child. When it comes to you, it’s asking for your attention. If you attend to it right away, it will go away in peace and silence.
But if you don’t attend to it right away, it will keep coming back and nagging you until you resolve it.
When pain comes to you, treat it like you would treat a little child.
Sit with it. Indulge it. Walk with it. Talk to it. Cry with it if you must. When you do what it asks you to do, the pain will be satisfied and it will leave you soon.
So, next time you feel pained by anything, remember this.
Cheers!
