Met God?
Have you seen God? Have you met Him? Has He come in your dreams asking for your allegiance? What makes you think you owe him one? Who told you He needs your protection? If God were who they claim He is Then couldn’t He axe you in a sec? Why protect His name as if demeaning it would make Him less? If God were God the alpha and the omega the creator and the destroyer the jealous God who wants His children all to Himself then would He need a scripture book to instruct men to beware of His wrath? Aren’t the raging sea the leaking mountains, the swallowing land and the harrowing winds enough evidence to prove His strength? And if He really were a God who cares would He allow demons to rise dumbly destruct His creation and keep on watching as if He didn’t care?

The raging sea and swallowing land part..? I kinda adored that.
Joint response to both you, @Shalini, and @Gopalakrishnan:
It’s true, Shalini, ignorance is everywhere. But there is definitely no bitterness coloring your sense of the reality we face today, only a rational, pragmatic courage to face it. The basis of our problems lies in the combination of ignorance and blind faith, or belief in spiritual dogma. These have resulted some of the greatest wars, and some of the most horrendous atrocities, exacted in the history of humankind and in the name of spiritual beliefs. These realities are what we face in a very visceral, real-time sense, right here in the US, a place we once believed inviolable to any threat of this nature. Shalini, your words are so worthy of time for thought and consideration. I hope readers will honor your words with these.
