The Sun Still Shines

I wish you would keep the faith
Keep the faith because 
What happened to you 
Happened for a good reason 

You had to learn endurance 
You had big dreams for yourself 
You wanted to sacrifice for him 
You were so much in love 
It’s just that he didn’t deserve it
He had to also learn that he needed patience
 
You didn’t know nothing
You were born into tradition 
He didn’t know nothing 
He was also born into culture
That follows superstition 
You didn’t ask the important questions
He didn’t even talk

You didn’t know how to connect with him 
And he didn’t either
I know how hard this can be
But keep the faith

It’s all for a good reason 
To teach you patience
Not the kind that you brought with you
But the kind that you had to learn
To keep your mouth zipped tight 
in the closed places of your life 

Your greying started 
Even while you were in college
You had to learn endurance 
Unworthiness even back then

But you didn’t connect the dots did you
He’s here to teach you that 
So you would spot unworthiness in a split second 
And not invest your future into it

But did ya do that?
I betcha you didn’t 
You had to do it again 
Trust in unworthy strangers 
And learn to reap the consequences 
Are you ever gonna learn from that?

Trusting comes naturally to you doesn’t it?
And you are not planning on letting go of what is yours deep within huh?
Stop!

Trusting is important
But it is also important to spot the differences
The six differences that teach you to spot the lies from the truth 
Learn them
Watch for them
And then decide for yourself
If you should trust them

Keep the faith
God is teaching you to spot the differences 
So you would learn to protect yourself next time 
Learn! 
Don’t trust in blindness 

Keep the faith because 
You need a helper 
A helping hand
When life gets miserable 
When torments strike down 
And take away your peace 

Keep the faith because 
The Sun still shines 
The earth still rotates 
And the moon still goes around it

Keep the faith because 
The birds still sing
The animals show up where they should
The beautiful buttercups show up in the spring 

Keep the faith because 
No matter what goes on in the world around you 
You are still in Gods hands
Through sickness 
Through pain
Through misery 
And joy doesn’t stop coming 
He intersperses it along 

Keep the faith because 
When you can no longer bear it
Whatever that you are going through 
There’s still God you can call on
Reach out to
And you know
He comes running to your rescue 
When you call on Him and seek His help

Keep the faith because 
One day you will see the Sun again 
And when you do that 
You will know why you held on all along 
And you will have learned how to hold on to that 

Keep the faith because 
When you hold on in endurance 
You learn so much 
You grow abundantly 
Extraordinarily 
You even learn that what once seemed impossible 
Was just a messed up mind within 
All rooted in lies you learned when young

But the truth is
You didn’t know your potential 
You didn’t know your preferences 
You didn’t know why you were born
Why you existed until just now
And why you remain still

Keep the faith because 
Life ain’t over
There’s many more hills to climb over
It has just started 
And the view from each one of them is spectacular 

Keep the faith because 
Would life be interesting 
If you didn’t live through it
If it remained a monotonous color
A pond with no inlet 
Outlet 
That stayed still
Stagnant 
Silent and rotting 

And since you are none of that 
Since you have been growing 
Ever since you started 
You can rest assured in peace
That you are going somewhere neat

So keep the faith while you are at it
Keep the faith while you are moving 
Keep the faith while you are sick 
Keep the faith while you are going crazy 
Suffocated 
Tormented 
Hold onto your peace 

It’s all going to be unraveled soon
And you are going to love it when that happens
So keep the faith 

Remember the sun always shines 
Right behind the rain clouds 
Even if you don’t see it right now 
Doesn’t mean it ain’t there waiting to show up all over again 

And the earth goes round on its own axis 
Which means there will be nights when there are days
Nights are meant for rest and recharge
Rest when you are given them nights 
Recharge for the work that needs another day 

And while you are at it
Go for a walk
Enjoy the sun 
The sky
The clouds
The birds
The animals that scurry along 
And the beautiful moon that shows up in different sketches 
Every night for your pleasure 
And the twinkling stars 

And always always remember to
Keep the faith!
It’s gonna take you places 
That you’ve never dreamed of
Just like it did to you just a short while ago 

Because it’s not in your hands 
It never was 
Your destiny was designed beforehand 
And you are just walking in step 

But it was not carelessly designed 
Like the ones you have met 
It was carefully hand crafted 
With all the quirks, twists and turns 
To make life interesting 
Better than any movie you have ever watched 
Wouldn’t you agree to that?
Amen! 

So keep the faith!
Enjoy your life
Enjoy the quirks
The twists and turns 
And learn to live in the present moment 

Trust me when I say 
It brings either great pleasures 
Or deep understanding 
Either way it is a teacher 
Revealing new secrets everyday 
Drawing them out of thin air
Like cotton candy comes out of nowhere 
But the sugar was placed inside before you knew about it
And isn’t it a big delight
To the eyes
As it is to the tongue?

So think about this
