It is Not Enough!
Are you using your brain right?
It is not enough
If is not enough
To sit inside the house
And admire the stars and the moon from the window
You’ve got to get out in the cold
And appreciate everything
God has provided us in the form of nature
It is not enough to just decide to vote because you turned 18 finally
You have got to do your research as to which party is the better of two evils
And then decide if you are going to vote for them or not
And finally vote if you made the decision to do so
Just thinking I’ll vote or not vote isn’t enough
See how many innocent people are suffering getting dragged onto the streets ?
What wrong did they do to deserve this?
Trust in you to do your research while you decided to vote Republican simply because
the girls at your high school decided to vote democrat?
How fair is that?
Would it be ok if your mother were that person who was being dragged down that street
by the immigration and customs official ?
It is not enough to read extensively
Or have an awesome job as an executive
What you are doing on a day to day basis is important
How you are spending your time and your life all matter very much
Yesterday she was alive
She was only 52
She had just had a benign blob show up
She had been operated and the blob had been surgically removed also
Another surgery to remove the infection that had spread to the nearby parts of the body has also been done
Then came her daughter's marriage
She had decided she’d wait it out until it got over
But she waited a bit too long
And just like that
Poof! She’s gone! Passed on!
Whose fault is it?
Her’s? Her husband’s? Her daughter’s? Whose fault is it that now after going door to door
to invite friends and family for the wedding
After celebrating a grand ceremony with all people
who had come and blessed the young couple
That now their mother is no more?
Were the surgeries not done in time to remove the complications?
Then how did the sepsis happen?
At only 52 years old?
Who will replace her absence?
Will it be enough?
Hold onto your loved ones
Do the right thing
Don’t harm another person
Try to be right only in God’s sight
Then perhaps in would be enough
Perhaps that will give us hope for a future
Don’t take your privileges too loosely
Every privilege is a responsibility
Please take care of yourself
Your family
And your neighbor down the street
Then perhaps you will be blessed
With a future for yourself and your kids
There is no use repenting at leisure
It won’t be enough then
Think about this
Peace ✌🏽

Oh Shalini, you’re basically shaking us by the shoulders with a glittery “WAKE UP, IT’S NOT ENOUGH!” From stargazing to voting to hugging your loved ones tight, you’re saying: don’t just think it counts—do it, care, act! And that life? It’s sneaky, vanishing in a poof if we wait too long. Your words are a playful, urgent nudge: pay attention, hold tight, and maybe—just maybe—it’ll be enough.
Great message loved this piece
