Watch out for the dark alley
I am sitting out here wondering what’s going on While somebody out there is hiding talent Prosperity steadily and being a homemaker Or a student or something else Would she be proud of me Or wouldn’t she I don’t know what to say mystery Bless me History is not enough To take the genes away And return the person to void So many names And faces here They don’t know each other Or me They just come here to read No envy No jealousy Such paradise A place to read It’s envy that comes undisputed To take away your peace of mind It says to you Look at him Her anybody good And see them shine in brilliance When we follow its lead Then comes misery It packs up and brings with it quietly This need not be Envy can be recognized Understood Questioned And proven right for what it is And left alone to languish in misery By itself quietly Misery loves company Envy brings misery to you Silently Watch what it can do Take away your mental clarity Your acquiescence Your voice of opinion And force you to look long into one direction The lovely alley that calls to you To walk in and find for yourself That it’s slippery And dangerous to enter It can take you places You don’t wanna go at all Have you been to NYC the dark alleys where no more than one person could walk at a time? It’s quiet It’s icky It’s scary And yes it’s dangerous The allies at the city You had better beware of it They are shrouded in mystery They might have history So beware and don’t try to take shortcuts While you are down there Envy is one such alley It’s dark It’s treacherous It’s poisonous For good reason Don’t let it seize you When you recognize it Let it go There’s no point in clinging to it If you don’t want misery it’s a deep pit How do you conquer envy Pay attention to the person who makes you jealous of him Get it know them more than you do now Perhaps that will be enough to change your mind Either they would not be worth your time and engagement Or they would be worthy of your admiration Envy will just run away confused Empty And leave you in peace Don’t let envy take you places Let it instead bring you light insight Into yourself And walk you through to better days Now make yourself a salad And enjoy the sunshine in peace ✌🏽 Have a nice day folks !
