How A Butterfly Lost Its Life In A Spider Web
I was sitting on a ledge beside a butterfly bush There was a spider web above it I kept looking at the beautiful butterflies That flew by and sucked milkweed I wasn’t paying attention to the spider web above it In fact I didn’t know about it until One little butterfly got entangled in it It tried and tried and pried and pried itself out of the mesh it got into But to no avail Eventually it got consumed by it It stopped fighting and gave up trying hard to leave It succumbed willfully to its circumstance And became still I then saw the spider approaching slowly to feed on it And feed on it it did Little by little Until the butterfly got sucked into it fully Poor butterfly lost its life that day Because it didn’t care to keep itself away from the spider web that was invisible above its milkweed plant I wondered why I saw this Was it here to teach me something today Was I getting entangled in an invisible web also That is slowly consuming me little by little effortlessly painlessly freely While all my effort to get out of it are being in vain? Should I stay Should I leave while I still can But this is so alluring This milkweed plant Fly away butterfly Fly away to freedom There are other milkweed plants you can feed on Don’t get lost staying here for life Do it while you still have a chance Think about this Peace ✌🏽
