Breathe Count Matters
Even Breathe length Does. So say the sages of ancient times!
Breathe count matters
So say the ancient sages of very old times in India
Just like a dog which takes faster breaths
has a life lot less than man
And a tortoise that takes slower breaths
takes a much longer life to consume
How fast or slow we breathe
Will make our life last less or longer
In accordance with our breaths count and length alone
Assuming nothing else comes our way
To cut it shorter still
But that is only one half of the story
The other half goes like this:
Every time we react to circumstances
Get angry for instance
We increase our breathe count
And thereby decrease our days on earth
Those of us who are earthy therefore
Or cool like water
Or carefree like air
Tend to live longer
Than the windy and fiery ones
Who are quick to react to anything that goes on
Have I mentioned everything?
Oh and that’s because
Every time we are in a normal frame of mind
For every breathe we take
Our inhale is 8 inches but our exhale is 12 inches
So there is a wastage of 4 inches right there
But when we are angry, for instance
The inhale and exhale become longer
And therefore the wastage becomes even more
And that increases for every event
Sex creates the maximum wastage of breath say the sages
Where the inhale is about 27 inches
And the exhale 64
And that is the maximum allowable limit
For a breathe exhalation
And therefore those who have practiced
To be at peace within
No matter what comes their way
Have not only reduced their wastage of breathe
But in the process
They enhance the quality of their lives as well
So much so that
Some of those sages of the past
Have been known to physically master space and time
Such that they show themselves in two places at once
Completely intact as if real in them both
And talk to people and make them act
Just like we can appear online to a friend
And cause them
To make changes in their lives
With our guidance
For these kinds of men
There will be no wastage of breathe at all
In fact they will be using only
Two inches of breathing out length
For every 8 inches of breathing in
Say the sages of ancient times
And Paramahansa Yogananda has recorded
Some of these kinds of events in his autobiography
It’s called “Autobiography of a yogi”
Where he talks about witnessing one of these yogis
Who demonstrated being in two places at once
And another who showed up to him mother
And made things appear in her hands as she meditated
Which could then take him places
As if they were Aladdin’s magic carpet!
So think about this
And try to keep your life as long as you can
For your own sake
By keeping the peace within
Especially when life’s trials begin
As winter progresses
Until spring returns!
Keep the Peace within
Hold on to the life as long as you can!
Peace ✌🏽

Shalini, I swear I started reading this like a normal person and ended it clutching my chest wondering how many years I just lost arguing with my toaster.
The tortoise lives forever, the dog zooms through life, and apparently sex is a full-body tax audit — your sages did not come to play.
But your core message?
Stay calm, breathe soft, live long.
I’m taking that to heart… gently… with minimal breath-wastage.
Peace within, Shalini —
I’m protecting mine like it’s premium oxygen.
Oh what an insightful article you wrote. Very useful. Breathing patterns are related to our moods like anger, peace etc.
I practice box breathing everyday.
Even when get anger, we shall try long breaths in and out few times, and in the mean time anger subsides.
Thanks for the useful article
